The French Open kicked off this past Sunday, May 24, with the greatest stars in tennis flooding to the iconic Roland Garros stadium in Paris.
On day one, teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva dominated her first match on Court Philippe-Chatrier with a straight-sets win—all while wearing a pretty kit in different shades of pink. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic matched the clay in an orange kit as he came out on top for his first men’s singles match.
On day two, celebrated American player Frances Tiafoe took over Court Simonne-Mathieu in a monochrome navy look with pops of white a red—very French.
Day three saw Naomi Osaka make a theatrical quick change at Court Suzanne-Lenglen from a sheer black Nike set drenched in beads, to a golden top and miniskirt adorned with ruffles and sequins. Meanwhile, in a different court, Aryna Sabalenka defeated Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain while in a layered orange-and-black minidress and electric-green Wilson Blade racket.
After Sabalenka’s match, Coco Gauff took to the clay in a lavender New Balance kit with a matching racket and frilly socks.
Apart from 90-degree weather, day four at Roland Garros brought polished, vintage-inspired Wilson fits in cool gray tones from Marta Kostyuk and Karen Khachanov—the latter who capped his off with a backwards hat.
As the tournament continues, so will the jaw-dropping plays and on-the-court fashion. The venue’s vibrant clay courts make it the only Grand Slam tournament currently played on the surface, and as it turns out, every look pops with red ochre.
