Sir Andy Murray is reportedly set for a Channel 4 documentary about his life after retiring from tennis.<\/p>\n
The legendary sportsman, who is a two-time Wimbledon champion, is said to have signed up alongside his wife Kim for a fly on the wall docuseries exploring their home life away from the court.<\/p>\n
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “Andy is a sports star who has only allowed glimpses of his life beyond the tennis court, so this is a major shift for him.<\/p>\n
“But it’s expected to show Andy in quite a different light to his persona as an intense player.”<\/p>\n
While the show is yet to be named, it’s expected to follow the Murrays’ trials and tribulations running their five-star Scottish hotel.<\/p>\n
The insider added: “It will see him as more of a family man, a husband, and a business owner \u2014 as well as the more light-hearted humorous bloke many of his close pals and fellow \u00adtennis stars know him to be.\u201d<\/p>\n
Murray bought the Cromlix Hotel, which is in his hometown of Dunblane, for around \u00a31.8 million in 2013.<\/p>\n
Filming has wrapped on the Channel 4 documentary, which is expected to hit the broadcaster “soon”.<\/p>\n
The docuseries comes from studio Rogan Productions, which has worked on documentaries focused on the likes of David Bowie, Queen legend Freddie Mercury, and actress Rose Ayling-Ellis.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, his and Kim’s four children – Sophia, 10, Edie, eight, Teddy, six, and five-year-old Lola – are all believed to be appearing in the programme.<\/p>\n
He retired from professional tennis following the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he reached the men’s doubles quarter finals.<\/p>\n
The tennis ace previously revealed while his youngest kids appreciate him being around more, he admitted his eldest child “certainly finds [him] embarrassing”.<\/p>\n
Late last year, he told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “When I drop her off [at school], it’s like, ‘Turn the music off, don’t get out of the car.’<\/p>\n
“She won’t walk next to me. She likes to walk quite a few steps behind me.”<\/p>\n
The former sportsman feels “very lucky” that he can be around so much for his children now and he thinks he is closer to them than ever.<\/p>\n
He said: “I’m very lucky that I’m in a position where I’m able to do that.<\/p>\n
“I do all of the drop-offs and pickups, and I’m now there for all of the birthdays and school events. I love it.<\/p>\n
