Serena Williams<\/a> will make a sensational comeback to professional tennis<\/a> this week, entering the Queen’s Club Championships doubles bracket alongside Canada’s Victoria Mboko.<\/p>\n

Williams, a 23-time singles Grand Slam winner, has not played a game of competitive tennis since the 2022 US Open, but, now 44 years of age, will return to the lawns at Hamersmith with an eye to warming up for next month’s Wimbledon.<\/a><\/p>\n

She insists, though, that this comeback is for the love of the game rather than to add to her already bulging trophy cabinet.<\/p>\n

“I don’t need to win,” she said.<\/p>\n

“I’ve won more than most people have in their whole lives, so it’s not that important to me, and it’s important that I keep reminding myself of that, because I don’t have anything to prove.<\/p>\n

“I don’t have anything to lose, and everything here is just to gain.”<\/p>\n

When does Serena Williams play at Queens?<\/p>\n

Serena Williams will get her Queens<\/a> campaign underway on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.<\/p>\n

She will partner Victoria Mboko in the doubles bracket, facing Erin Routliffe and Nicole Melichar-Martinez in the round of 16.<\/p>\n

The match’s start time and Tuesday’s general order of play are both yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

How to watch Queens 2026<\/p>\n

TV channel: In the UK, Queens will be televised live on BBC One and BBC Two.<\/p>\n

Coverage of the women’s tournament will get underway at 1pm BST on BBC Two and will run continuously through 6pm from Tuesday until Friday.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, coverage will move to BBC One, running from 1.25pm to 5.15pm.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s final will also be broadcast on BBC One, with coverage running from 1.25pm to 5.15pm.<\/p>\n

Please note that timings and channels may differ for the men’s tournament.<\/p>\n
