(Source: Getty)<\/p>\n<p>After a first-round bye, third seed Alexander Bublik will face Jan-Lennard Struff in the second round of the BOSS Open 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Bublik started the season with a title in Hong Kong, and followed it up with a fourth-round showing at the Australian Open. A semifinal in Rotterdam a couple of weeks later was another highlight. However, his results took a hit for the remainder of the hardcourt swing.<\/p>\n<p>The clay season didn&#8217;t bring any respite for Bublik, during which he was inconsistent at best. A quarterfinal loss to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/carlos-alcaraz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> at the Monte-Carlo Masters kicked off his clay swing. Following early exits from Munich, Madrid, and Rome, he bounced back with a semifinal in Geneva. Seeded ninth at the French Open, he was sent packing by Struff in the first round.<\/p>\n<p>Struff lost to Bublik in the Rotterdam quarterfinals, the only time he won matches on hardcourts this season. He made the second round of the Madrid Open, the Italian Open, and the French Open during the clay swing. He was up against qualifier Alexis Galarneau in the first round of the BOSS Open.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/jan-lennard-struff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Struff<\/a> claimed the opening set with a couple of service breaks in his favor. Galarneau fought back to capture the second set via a tie-break. He won the title in Halle but crashed out in the first-round of Wimbledon. He has a 2-2 record in Stuttgart.<\/p>\n<p>Struff improved his record for the season to 5-10 with his win over Galarneau. He went 3-3 on grass last season. He has a 13-8 record at the BOSS Open, with a runner-up finish in 2023 being his best result.<\/p>\n<p>Bublik and Struff have already crossed paths thrice this season. The former won their first couple of matches this year on hardcourts, while the latter came out on top at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/go\/roland-garros\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">French Open<\/a> a few days ago. Bublik also won the pair&#8217;s only showdown on grass in Halle in 2023.
