The British professional women\u2019s tennis gang is tight: \u2018Heather [Watson], Freya Christie\u2026 obviously Emma [Raducanu] \u2013 we all get on very well,\u2019 says Boulter. Laura Robson, her former housemate, recently retired from professional tennis aged 28, but remains \u2018the cook in the group. We do loads of barbecues over the summer.\u2019<\/p>\n
Boulter is partial, too, to the London scene: afternoon tea at Brown\u2019s Hotel (\u2018My mum\u2019s favourite place\u2019); and, up until now, Le Boudin Blanc in Shepherd Market. The restaurant, just a kiss away from 5 Hertford Street, has been newly transformed into Noble Rot Mayfair<\/a>, and Boulter is up for trying it out. But, like Jack Draper and Cameron Norrie, south-west London is her true stomping ground: \u2018Laura is in Clapham<\/a>, I\u2019m in Putney<\/a>, I\u2019ve got a few friends in Wimbledon, one in Kew. In my heyday, way back when, we used to go to Northcote Records [the Battersea<\/a> bar and live music mecca] and absolutely loved it.\u2019 Still, she says she\u2019s essentially \u2018a real country girl\u2019, who\u2019s very close to her family, and \u2018super-proud\u2019 of her brother, James \u2013 \u2018He messages me after every single match.\u2019 As a talent agent, James is also familiar with stardust, working closely with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, whom he took to Wimbledon. \u2018He works very, very hard,\u2019 says Boulter.<\/p>\n Katie Boulter describes herself as \u2018a very competitive person.
