{"id":25610,"date":"2026-06-26T22:43:33","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T22:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/tennis\/25610\/"},"modified":"2026-06-26T22:43:33","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T22:43:33","slug":"four-jackets-named-to-acc-all-academic-team-mens-tennis-georgia-tech-yellow-jackets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/tennis\/25610\/","title":{"rendered":"Four Jackets Named to ACC All-Academic Team \u2013 Men&#8217;s Tennis \u2014 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>THE FLATS\u202f\u2013\u00a0Four Georgia Tech men\u2019s tennis student-athletes were named to the 2026 ACC\u00a0All-Academic Team, the conference announced Friday.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Christophe Clement, Jonathan Irwanto, Hidde\u00a0Schoenmakers\u00a0and\u00a0Elias Shokry\u00a0received\u00a0honors\u00a0following impressive seasons on the court and in the classroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Clement, named to the 2026 All-ACC Third Team this season, earned 10 singles victories and eight doubles wins in his final season on The Flats \u2013 all on Court 1.\u00a0He went on a seven-match unbeaten streak while winning all 11 finished sets in non-conference action without dropping a frame.\u00a0This honor marks his second-straight\u00a0selection\u00a0to the ACC All-Academic Team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Irwanto finished tied for a team-high 19 singles\u00a0wins\u00a0including 12 in spring action. He had five-plus singles victories on Courts 3 and 4 including\u00a0matches against Duke,\u00a0North Carolina\u00a0and Boston College. In the ITA Regional Championships, he earned his first career ranked singles win over Arda\u00a0Azkara\u00a0(Georgia).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Schoenmakers\u00a0captured 18 victories in singles competition this\u00a0season\u00a0including a 3-1 record on Court 1.\u00a0The\u00a0freshman\u00a0posted\u00a0two different four-match winning streaks in the fall and had spring\u00a0wins over Louisville, Miami,\u00a0North Carolina\u00a0and SMU.\u00a0He also collected 12\u00a0doubles\u00a0victories.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shokry earned 17 wins in singles action including match wins over Duke and Boston College. In addition to nine doubles wins, he secured four decisions on Courts 4 and 5.\u00a0Shokry secures his second ACC All-Academic Team nod.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Clement,\u00a0Irwanto\u00a0and Shokry were named to the 2026 CSC Academic All-District Team in May.\u00a0This marks the fifth-straight season Tech has placed at least three student-athletes on the\u00a0ACC\u00a0All-Academic Team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>   <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/tennis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/aHR0cHM6Ly9yYW1ibGlud3JlY2suY29tL3dwLWNvbnRlbnQvdXBsb2Fkcy8yMDI2LzA2LzIwMjYwNjE2X01URU5fQWxsLUFDQy1B.png\" data-fancybox=\"article\"> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/tennis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/aHR0cHM6Ly9yYW1ibGlud3JlY2suY29tL3dwLWNvbnRlbnQvdXBsb2Fkcy8yMDI2LzA2LzIwMjYwNjE2X01URU5fQWxsLUFDQy1B.png\" alt=\"\"\/> <\/a>   <\/p>\n<p>Full Steam Ahead\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Full Steam Ahead is a $500 million fundraising initiative to achieve Georgia Tech athletics\u2019 goal of competing for championships at the highest level in the next era of intercollegiate athletics. The initiative will fund transformative projects for Tech athletics,\u00a0including renovations of Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field (the historic home of Georgia Tech football), the\u00a0Zelnak\u00a0Basketball Center (the practice and training facility for Tech basketball) and O\u2019Keefe Gymnasium (the venerable home of Yellow Jackets volleyball), as well as additional projects and initiatives to further advance Georgia Tech athletics through program wide-operational support.
