ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, GLENN. WELL, SOUTH FLORIDA, AS WE KNOW, HAS BEEN A HOT BED FOR TENNIS AND FOR THE LAST SIX YEARS. THAT INCLUDES THE WEEKLY TOURNAMENT KNOWN AS THE BATTLE OF BOCA SPORTS ANCHOR YIANNI KOURAKIS. JOINING US NOW FROM BOCA RATON WITH MORE ON THEIR INSPIRATIONAL TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR. JASON ZAFIROS LIVES AND BREATHES THE GAME OF TENNIS, SO IT’S NO SURPRISE THAT HE WORKS AROUND THE CLOCK TO MAKE THE BATTLE OF BOCA, THE TENNIS DESTINATION THAT IT HAS BECOME. ALL WHILE HE’S BATTLING M. S RIGHT NOW, AS I TALK TO YOU, MY FEET ARE BURNING VERY BADLY. MY LEGS FEEL EXTREMELY HEAVY. I’M KIND OF LIKE HURTING INSIDE. AND THAT’S WHAT MISS DOES TO YOU. EVEN STILL, ON A HOT AND STEAMY SOUTH FLORIDA DAY, JASON ZAFIROS COMES TO WORK. BATTLE OF BOCA IS HIS BABY AND HE ISN’T ABOUT TO MISS A DAY OF WORK. I’VE BEEN DOING THIS SIX YEARS. I’VE NEVER MISSED A WEEKEND. SO SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY, IT’S LIKE IT DOESN’T MATTER IF IT’S A HURRICANE. BIRTHDAY I HAVE COMING UP ON SATURDAY. IT DOESN’T MATTER THE DAY WHAT HOLIDAY BATTLE OF BOCA DOESN’T STOP RUNNING. THE WEEKLY TOURNAMENT RUNS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH MEN’S AND WOMEN’S OPENS. IT’S FOR PLAYERS OF ALL AGES PLAYING FOR A CASH PRIZE, BUT SPECIFICALLY ATTRACTS YOUNG PLAYERS, MANY OF WHOM LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA. AND WITH EVERY MATCH LIVE STREAMED, THEY CAN PLAY WEEKLY WITH COLLEGE COACHES WATCHING FROM HOME. SEE THE PROGRESSION OF THESE JUNIOR PLAYERS. THEY GO FROM BEING, YOU KNOW, HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS TO GETTING COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS, AND YOU KIND OF WATCH THEM GROW UP BECAUSE THEY PLAY ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND. AND JASON SAYS HE HOPES HIS MINDSET BATTLING THROUGH HARDSHIP RUBS OFF ON HIS TOURNAMENT PLAYERS. I WORK ABOUT 80 HOURS A WEEK WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, AND IF YOU HAVE A POSITIVE MINDSET LIKE I DO, YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT. AND WITH ZAFIROS PASSION FOR TENNIS, HELP FROM RICK MACY AND INGENUITY, DON’T BE SURPRISED.
