When Kate Middleton made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon last week<\/a>, eagle-eyed fans noted she was wearing a small microphone underneath her blazer.<\/p>\n The microphone is visible underneath her lapel.<\/p>\n The reason why the Princess of Wales was wearing the device became clear today, when Wimbledon shared footage of Kate on their social media channels as part of their \u201cOverheard at Wimbledon\u201d series. The clip captured the Princess sitting with Debbie Jevans, the chairwoman of the All England Lawn Tennis, and Tim Henman, a former British tennis player, as they watched British player Arthur Fery<\/a> against Otto Virtanen on Court 18.<\/p>\n During the video, Kate speaks about her Three Peaks Challenge. \u201cI did it in 24 hours, that was the challenge anyway. But I think part of the journey was trying to enjoy the process, the training beforehand, but also making the time during the walk, to meet people and enjoy the journey rather than just quickly getting to the top,\u201d she told Henman as they watched the match.<\/p>\n Kate, the royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, is expected to attend the Wimbledon men\u2019s and women\u2019s singles finals this weekend to present the trophies. In past years, she has also brought her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte to the men\u2019s finals.<\/p>\n Numerous members of the royal family have attended Wimbledon so far this year, including Queen Camilla<\/a>, Peter Phillips<\/a>, the Duchess of Gloucester<\/a>, and the Duke of Kent<\/a>, along with members of the Middleton family, including Kate\u2019s parents Carole and Michael<\/a> and sister Pippa<\/a>.<\/p>\n Emily Burack (she\/her) is the Deputy Digital Editor for Town & Country, where she covers entertainment, celebrities, the royals, and a wide range of other topics.
