IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect<\/p>\n<p>This marked the first major tournament win of Zverev\u2019s career, which ended the narrative that the 29-year-old (who is the world\u2019s No. 3-ranked player, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/rankings\/singles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">according to the ATP<\/a>) never comes through when the lights are brightest. <\/p>\n<p>Now Zverev is looking to use that <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/08\/betting\/wimbledon-picks-taylor-fritz-vs-alexander-zverev-predictions-best-bets-odds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">momentum to win at Wimbledon<\/a>. Instagram\/sophiathomalla<\/p>\n<p>The couple (who have been together since 2020) bought a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mishkas_universe\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">new dachshund, named Buba<\/a>, after this French Open. And Thomalla posted a cozy selfie with Buba resting on her shoulder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sophiathomalla\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">to her Instagram<\/a> story before Zverev\u2019s Wimbledon semifinal match on July 9.<\/p>\n<p>Buba isn\u2019t Thomalla and Zverev\u2019s only dachshund, as they also have Mishka. But they seemiongly decided that Mishka needed a partner in crime and added Buba to the family. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps Zverev and Thomalla will get a third dog if he manages to win Wimbledon this year.
