The saying goes that it takes a village to raise a child. But in tennis, it takes a team to make a champion. As Karol\u00edna Muchov\u00e1 aims to win her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon<\/a>, she\u2019ll be cheered on not only by everyone at Centre Court, but by those closest to her as well. That support system includes her parents, her coach, and other members of her inner circle. So, here\u2019s who we can expect to see in Karol\u00edna Muchov\u00e1\u2019s player’s box:<\/p>\n

Sven Groeneveld began working with Muchov\u00e1<\/a> at the start of 2026, after she parted ways with coach Emil Mi\u0161ek for the second time. It has already produced results: Muchov\u00e1 won her first WTA 1000 title at the Qatar Open in February, and has since reached the Wimbledon finals. Groeneveld brings more than three decades of experience coaching top-ranked players, having guided Monica Seles, Ana Ivanovic, and Maria Sharapova to Grand Slam titles, among others.<\/p>\n

Her physiotherapist, Jaroslav Bla\u017eek<\/p>\n

Per his LinkedIn<\/a> profile, Bla\u017eek holds a bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degree in physical education and sports from Charles University in Prague, with a specialization in tennis coaching. He worked as a tennis trainer in Austria and as a fitness trainer and cross-country skiing trainer at Hotel Post Bezau before joining the professional tour. Since 2015, he has worked as a physical trainer and masseur for Swiss tennis star Belinda Bencic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of the 2023 U.S. Open<\/a>, Bla\u017eek described Karol\u00edna as someone who will \u201cfight like a lion. \u201cFirst of all, Karol\u00edna, however she\u2019s looking, is an easy-going girl. She\u2019s a hard worker as well, and she’s realizing what’s going on,” Bla\u017eek told reporters in Flushing Meadows. \u201cIt\u2019s like generally she\u2019s better moving, serving, and the mindset. The self-confidence grew up. So every match, when you win, it\u2019s kicking you up a little bit\u2026Self-confidence and hand-by-hand, everything is getting better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her parents, Josef Much\u00e1 and Hana Muchov\u00e1<\/p>\n

Muchov\u00e1 was born in Olomouc, Czechia, and grew up in a sporting household. Her father, Josef Much\u00e1, is a former professional soccer player<\/a> who made more than 250 appearances in the Czech First League<\/a>, including over 200 for SK Sigma Olomouc. He introduced her to tennis at age seven. Josef has since moved into coaching.<\/p>\n

Her brother, Filip Much\u00e1<\/p>\n

Her brother, Filip, is also a professional athlete, and followed their father into football. A goalkeeper, Filip currently plays<\/a> for Czech club SK Han\u00e1ck\u00e1 Slavia Krom\u011b\u0159\u00ed\u017e and has previously had stints at FC Zbrojovka Brno and SK Prost\u011bjov. He sometimes travel for his sister\u2019s big tournaments; Filip, for instance, shared photos of the family in Paris for the 2019 French Open.<\/p>\n

Hon has been spotted in Muchov\u00e1\u2019s box during Wimbledon; the two tennis players are close friends. The two are launching a skincare company focused on sunscreen<\/a> together.<\/p>\n
