LONDON, ENGLAND \u2013 Arthur Fery has become the new British number one after reaching his first ever Grand Slam semi-final at Wimbledon.<\/p>\n

The main headline on the ATP side is Arthur Fery\u2019s <\/a>incredible run to the Wimbledon semi-finals. The Brit overcame the likes of Grigor Dimitrov <\/a>and Flavio Cobolli <\/a>to reach a first Grand Slam semi-final. Fery\u2019s run was ultimately ended by Alexander Zverev<\/a> in the semi-finals but it was an incredible run from the wildcard. As a result, Fery climbed up the rankings by an extraordinary 78 places from 114 to 36 in the world as he became the new British number one. Now, Fery\u2019s run means he will play the US Open as a direct entrant into the main draw in a fortnight that will change his life in the short-term.<\/p>\n As for Zverev, the German defeated Fery to reach his first Wimbledon final and produced a stunning performance in the final against Jannik Sinner<\/a>. In a four set battle, Zverev just came up short as he continued the momentum from his Roland Garros triumph. However, Zverev is the new world number two and has overtaken Carlos Alcaraz <\/a>in the world rankings. In other ranking rises, Jan-Lennard Struff <\/a>is up 33 places to 41 in the world after his run to the Wimbledon quarter-finals while Roman Safiullin <\/a>is up 36 places to 96 in the world after his run to the second week at Wimbledon. Also Shintaro Mochizuki\u2019s <\/a>run from qualifying to the fourth round earned a 36 place rise up the rankings to 115 in the world.<\/p>\n In other notable ranking falls, Taylor Fritz <\/a>is down three places to ten in the world after failing to defend his semi-final points from last year. There was a 21 place fall down the rankings for Kamil Majchrzak <\/a>who is now at 66 in the world while Marin Cilic\u2019s <\/a>early exit means the Croatian is down 26 places to 88 in the world.<\/p>\n As for the other British players, Cameron Norrie <\/a>went out in the first round of Wimbledon and failed to defend his quarter-final points. Therefore, Norrie has fallen by nine places to 38 in the world. There was a continued fall down the rankings from Jack Draper <\/a>who is down 14 places to 145 in the world while Jack Pinnington Jones <\/a>is down 32 places to 170 in the world. However, there was a 36 place rise for Jacob Fearnley <\/a>who is at 123 in the world while Jan Choinski<\/a> climbed up by 25 places to 75 in the world.<\/p>\n ATP <\/p>\n ATP Brits <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n WTA Rankings and Brits Top 10<\/p>\n On the women\u2019s side, we had an 11th different 11 years as Linda Noskova <\/a>won her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon. It was an incredible fortnight for Noskova who carried her form and defeated Karolina Muchova <\/a>in an all Czech final. As a result of Noskova winning her maiden Grand Slam title, Noskova climbed up the ranking by five places to seven in the world as she returned to the world\u2019s top ten. It was also a great tournament for Muchova who reached her first Wimbledon final, defeating Coco Gauff <\/a>in an epic semi-final. That means Muchova has climbed up the rankings by three places and is six in the world.<\/p>\n As for Gauff, the American rises three places in the world to four in the rankings after reaching her first Wimbledon semi-final. After missing match point in that semi-final Gauff will be more motivated then ever before to win another Grand Slam title. There was a two place rise for Marta Kostyuk <\/a>who was the other semi-finalist at Wimbledon. There was a 15 place rise for Viktorija Golubic <\/a>who is at 47 in the world while Antonia Ruzic <\/a>climbed up 11 places to 50 in the world. Meanwhile, Ashlyn Krueger\u2019s <\/a>turn to the second week at Wimbledon saw her climb up 36 places to 66 in the world.<\/p>\n In ranking falls, defending champion Iga Swiatek <\/a>dropped down five places to eight in the world after her tournament ended in the third round. There was a three place drop for Amanda Anisimova <\/a>who is at nine in the world after she fell at the same stage to Swiatek having lost to the Pole in last year\u2019s final. There was a 28 place fall down the rankings for Liudmila Samsonova <\/a>who is now at 69 in the world. There is a 30 place fall for Solana Sierra <\/a>who is at 86 in the world while Laura Siegemund <\/a>is down 47 places to 87 in the world.<\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t a good tournament for the Brits as Emma Raducanu <\/a>fell down five places to 38 in the world while Katie Boulter <\/a>is down seven places to 67 in the world. There was a 39 place fall down the rankings for Sonay Kartal <\/a>to 122 in the world.
