{"id":45072,"date":"2026-07-31T11:44:29","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T11:44:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/tennis\/45072\/"},"modified":"2026-07-31T11:44:29","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T11:44:29","slug":"midcoast-recreation-center-cubs-ribbon-at-eric-lee-memorial-tennis-courts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/tennis\/45072\/","title":{"rendered":"MidCoast Recreation Center cubs ribbon at Eric Lee Memorial Tennis Courts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">ROCKPORT, Maine (WABI) &#8211; On Thursday, people came together at the MidCoast Recreation Center to honor the legacy of a man who forever impacted young tennis players. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The MRC cut the ribbon at the new Eric Lee Memorial Tennis Courts. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He spent a decade with the MidCoast Recreation Center as a tennis pro and instructor. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Prior to the ribbon cutting a dedication was held where speakers shared their memories of Eric. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Speakers noted his compassion for others and incredible sense of humor. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cEric\u2019s impact on this community was huge. He was a tennis pro here for a number of years, but so much more than that. He was such an engaging person. He was someone that whether you met him one time or knew him your whole life, he was like your best friend. And so that everyone that walked through the doors of MRC, they wanted to be part of what he was doing and a huge part of our community. And so beloved amongst all the kids that play tennis here at MRC,\u201c said Seth Meyer, tennis director at the MidCoast Recreation Center. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">This Sunday will see the 3rd Annual Eric Lee Memorial Tennis Tournament at the brand new court from 12-6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">While registration is closed, the community is encouraged to come by for a great day of tennis. <\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WABI.
