I respect that rule – every single day.

“Tonight, however, a tester arrived at 8.15pm and told me that my declared time doesn’t matter and that I must be tested right now. When I pointed out that it’s outside my testing window and a serious intrusion into my privacy, I was told: ‘This is the life of a professional athlete.’

“Is it normal for doping officers to sit in our living rooms at night waiting for us to pee? This is not about avoiding testing – it’s about respect. Respect for the rules that we follow, and for the personal life we’re entitled to after a long day of training and competition.

“Rules should apply to everyone. Even to those enforcing them.”

Vondrousova’s defence in the case pertained to the officer allegedly not following procedure, and failing to adequately identify herself.

The former World No. 6 also claims an “acute stress reaction” was at play during her decision-making process.

The tribunal said: “This is a very unfortunate manner in which the player made a decision in the heat of the moment to refuse doping control, in a state of stress and anxiety, with significant consequences.”

However, it was determined the tennis player had not provided enough evidence to justify why she refused the test, as the four-year ban was issued.

Vondrousova, who has not played a WTA match since January at the Adelaide Open, can still appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and insists she is a clean athlete.

She said “I have never doped. I have never had a positive test.

“Throughout my entire career, I have undergone countless anti-doping controls and have always stepped on to the court with a clear conscience. Just three days after the incident that ultimately changed my life, I was tested again.

“The result was negative. Just like every test before it.”

Vondrousova won her only Grand Slam title three years ago, beating Ons Jabeur in the Wimbledon final.

She also reached the 2019 French Open final, and has three WTA Tour titles.

Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova’s X-rated text about “some c*** from doping” has been
