Aryna Sabalenka\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>The four-time major champion\u00a0smiled and posed with one leg propped up as she grabbed the net of a basketball hoop. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust hanging\u2026 bts of my\u00a0@time\u00a0cover shoot \ud83d\ude0e,\u201d she captioned her post.<\/p>\n<p>Aryna Sabalenka behind the scenes of a TIME shoot. Aryna Sabalenka\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>Sabalenka opened up on a wide variety of topics in the interview, such as finding the balance between her sport and life off the court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to be remembered as a fighter on court, but so cool and fun off court,\u201d she said. \u201cI think it\u2019s really important for kids to understand that you have to balance. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t have to be fully, fully focused on your dreams. One day they can destroy you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sabalenka is coming off a fourth-round exit with a loss to 19th-ranked Ekaterina Alexandrova\u00a0at the 2026 Canadian Open last week.<\/p>\n<p>It came after her fourth-round defeat to Naomi Osaka at Wimbledon in July, when she told reporters she <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/07\/05\/sports\/aryna-sabalenka-wants-to-get-completely-drunk-after-loss-to-naomi-osaka-at-wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">wanted to \u201cget completely drunk\u201d<\/a> and \u201cforget about tennis\u201d after the loss.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a couple of drinks,\u201d Sabalenka told Time of her vacation to Greece after Wimbledon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI danced a little bit, I forgot about tennis for a couple days. But I never get drunk,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She added that she danced, sipped espresso martinis, lounged poolside and dived off a boat into the Aegean Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Sabalenka has her sights set on a third straight U.S. Open victory when the tournament returns to New York later this month.<\/p>\n<p>She would become the first player since Serena Williams 12 years ago to three-peat at the US Open \u2014 and just the third woman in the modern era to do it.
