Alia at a large ice cream concession outside the other show court Suzanne Lenglen said sales had been so good that yesterday she could not see the end of the queue and had not left her till for nine hours.<\/p>\n
It could have been worse.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn Sunday we ran out of ice cream,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Staff, fans and players have strategies.<\/p>\n
On Court Simonne-Mathieu, when the groundskeepers watered the court they would lift their hose and spray spectators.<\/p>\n
\u201cStay hydrated,\u201d women\u2019s No 1 seed Aryna Sabalenka called to fans at Chatrier after her win.<\/p>\n
Safety chief Durand said organisers were adding more free water fountains. \u201cWe noticed that the queues were long,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Not all fans feel the need to test their stamina.<\/p>\n
Risa Lipschutz said her group only planned \u201cto hang out for a few hours today\u201d.<\/p>\n
Corinne said she was picking her matches and \u201cmight not come for the whole day tomorrow\u201d.<\/p>\n
