Tennis<\/a> fans are commenting on how old they feel after seeing Roger Federer’<\/a>s kids at the US Open on Tuesday night. The Swiss legend – who retired in 2022 – returned to Flushing Meadows for an exhibition match against Andy Roddick, before also having a hit of doubles with Andre Agassi and James Blake.<\/p>\n

Federer’s wife Mirka was in the stands alongside his parents Robert and Lynette. But it was the image of his children that left onlookers feeling their age.<\/p>\n

Roger and Mirka are the proud parents of two sets of twins<\/a> – 17-year-old girls Myla and Charlene, and 12-year-old boys Leo and Lenny. Considering it’s been four years since Federer retired, the kids haven’t been seen at the tennis as frequently as they used to be.<\/p>\n

The girls are now all grown up and the boys are pre-teens as well. It’s a stark difference to the memories the majority of fans have of the kids as toddlers or primary schoolers.<\/p>\n

One person wrote on social media: “Man this made me feel old, I remember when these kids were babies in the stands watching Federer.” Another commented: “The kids already grown up.” While a third wrote: “I kinda can’t cope, they are all grown up. Special time for them.”<\/p>\n

Speaking after beating Roddick in a one-set match, Federer said it was a cool experience that his kids are now old enough to remember him playing. “It’s obviously incredible to share it with my family,” he said.<\/p>\n

“To have this moment here in New York where I’ve had so much success. It’s such a big week for me going into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.”<\/p>\n

Roger Federer overjoyed after US Open return<\/p>\n

Federer was thankful for the opportunity to play on Arthur Ashe Stadium again – especially against American legend Agassi. He lost in straight-sets to Agassi in his debut on centre court in 2001, before winning the first of his five straight US Open titles by beating him in the final in 2005.<\/p>\n

“The one against Andre, I think, was extremely special,” Federer said. “Playing a legend that was coming towards the end of his career – that we had a chance to play against each other.<\/p>\n

“And every player I was able to play against in the finals here also was a US Open champion. It’s been an incredible run. I loved it.”<\/p>\n
