DUBOIS \u2014 While the air outside DuBois Area High School was warm and heavy with humidity on Thursday afternoon, the rain held off until later in the evening, allowing the girls tennis teams from DuBois and Brockway to square off for a head-to-head league match.<\/p>\n
DuBois managed to hold home court for its third sweep of the week, besting the Lady Rovers by a 5-0 margin. On Monday, DuBois hosted Johnsonburg and won by the same score, while the Lady Beavers also won all five matches at Bradford on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
At top singles, Sonia Parekh of DuBois was able to win both of her sets against Maria Buttery 6-0, and at No. 2 it was Kendall Lashinsky picking up the team point for DuBois with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Brockway\u2019s Jorden Sanchez. Alyssa Catalano completed the singles sweep for DuBois by winning each of her sets by a 6-1 score over Rosalina Bickar of Brockway.<\/p>\n
In doubles, DuBois\u2019 top duo of Megan Orzechowski and Cameron Sarick picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win over Brockway\u2019s Lizzie Heverley and Mia Marchiori, and with Brockway shorter on players, the final team point went to DuBois\u2019 second doubles duo of Maya Guthridge and Avery Sheloski by forfeit.<\/p>\n
