{"id":68804,"date":"2026-09-08T16:15:16","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T16:15:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/tennis\/68804\/"},"modified":"2026-09-08T16:15:16","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T16:15:16","slug":"us-open-fans-say-sewage-human-waste-smell-ruined-sport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/tennis\/68804\/","title":{"rendered":"US Open fans say &#8216;sewage,&#8217; &#8216;human waste&#8217; smell ruined sport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis tastemakers are raising a stink.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>US Open attendees are making a viral racket online, claiming the unmistakable stench of\u00a0\u201chuman waste\u201d is funking up\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/08\/18\/ticket-sales\/get-last-minute-2026-us-open-tennis-tickets-with-a-discount\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">their championship experience<\/a> at Arthur Ashe Stadium.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it smells like human waste and the US Open has known about it for days, yet continues to allow people to sit in Section 310,\u201d alleged a social media whistleblower, digitally known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@baylorcarrots\/video\/7682596423661063454?_r=1&amp;_t=ZT-99XgqOAvmtZ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">@BaylorCarrots<\/a>, in the captions of a vid with over 10 million views.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tennis lovers blasted the US Open for allegedly subjecting sports fans to the smell of \u201csewage\u201d and \u201chuman waste\u201d during the major matches this weekend.  @baylorcarrots\/TikTok<\/p>\n<p>Footage of the\u00a0foul\u00a0play shows sports fans holding their noses in disgust, struggling to enjoy the Labor Day weekend match through the pungent unpleasantness.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Facilities Team and Guest Services told us they were already aware of the issue, but people were still being allowed to sit in the affected section,\u201d continued the content creator. \u201cWe paid to attend the US Open and should not have to sit for hours in an area that smells like human waste. How is this acceptable?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Representatives for the US Open did not immediately respond to The Post\u2019s request for a comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But commenters beneath the trending clip were quick to serve up their two cents on the nauseating scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Aryna Sabalenka claimed the smell of marijuana nearly ruined her game during a recent US Open faceoff.   ESPN<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you can smell it, particles are actually getting in your nose,\u201d wrote an onlooker, whose gross alert was echoed by a separate forewarner, saying, \u201cYou\u2019re not only being forced to smell that, you\u2019re breathing in s- -t, and marinating in it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was in section 310 yesterday. It was so bad! After I complained, guest services moved us for like the last 10 min of the Alcaraz Paul match,\u201d claimed an audience member. \u201cReally disappointing to have to sit through it for so long [but] we spent so much [money] on tickets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were smelling this during FAN WEEK and reported it. Crazy. Especially when 300-level tickets are still going for [over] $800,\u201d an equally irked onlooker added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFull refund,\u201d urged another. \u201cTell your bank and they\u2019ll reverse the payment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Visuals of the allegedly vile scene have amassed more than 10 million video views online.  @baylorcarrots\/TikTok<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the tennis tournament isn\u2019t the only thing getting\u00a0grand slammed\u00a0over the putrid upset.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWelcome to New York. It\u2019s completely the worst place on earth,\u201d spat a Big Apple troll.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Oliver Viel, an Open-goer whose nostrils were, too, assaulted by the sickening stink, expressed his dissatisfaction <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@oli.viel\/video\/7682605507160444174?_r=1&amp;_t=ZT-99YpwuFXl5p\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">in a TikTok post<\/a>, writing, \u201cPOV: You spent $300 to go to the US Open.
