Good morning!

Growing up all over the nation, and especially when in the eastern and southern states, this became one of my favorite months of the year. It’s mostly because the crisper, cooler weather provided relief from the constant and oppressive humid summer heat.

Then there’s football season kicking into high gear, and of course, an array of earthy colors from the turning fall leaves. When those leaves fell, yardwork became more of pulling a rake instead of pushing a lawnmower with the smells from burning leaf piles lingering throughout the neighborhood.

After that flashback of personal reminiscing, welcome to the first weekend of October!

Today’s weekend edition is led by WyoFile’s coverage of the Wyoming Supreme Court concluding that the crossover-voting ban is constitutional. It cleared the way for November’s general election to proceed as it has since 2023, when the Wyoming Legislature adopted the law.

Laramie native Lisa Kinney, who is running for the U.S. House of Representatives, made a campaign stop in Worland and had a conversation with the Northern Wyoming News.

For our Laramie Life page, a Laramie firefighter had quite the surprise when he became the recipient of the Paint It Forward program for his house offered by CHP Paint Co.

More news about data centers came from Cheyenne and the Wyoming Tribune Eagle when the Cheyenne City Council advanced Orchard Hills data center items ahead of final vote.

In Sports, Alex Taylor features University of Wyoming linebacker Ethan Stuhlsatz and how he is becoming a force for the defensive unit before the team’s big game at North Dakota State. The rest of the WyoSports crew also has all the Friday night prep action for our local teams.

Have a great Saturday, and enjoy the reading!
