Good morning!
Today’s newsletter is led with the Louisa Swain Foundation rededicating the newly renovated courtyard of the Wyoming Women’s History House honoring three of the original supporters who helped make the house possible 25 years ago.
The honorees were U.S. Sen. Cynthia Lummis, Jon Johnson and Ray Hunkins. The Foundation also dedicated the courtyard’s two new gardens to Diana Enzi and in memory of Bobbi Barrasso, two longtime champions of Wyoming women’s history.
Our Carolina Boelter covers a legal argument regarding unpaid inmate medical charges during a Wyoming Supreme Court hearing in the University of Wyoming’s College of Law. The involved parties faced a divide on whether the county is responsible for unpaid medical expenses, or if the burden should fall on hospitals treating inmates.
Our friends at the Wyoming Tribune Eagle cover when U.S. Sen. John Barrasso, Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon and Wyoming Department of Health Director Stefan Johansson held a press conference to announce the first recipients of the new Wyoming Rural Health Transformation Program.
Also in today’s news is a photo package by Boelter from the annually popular Scaramie event in downtown Laramie, and a preview of an upcoming UW Symphony Orchestra concert.
In Sports, confidence is growing for Wyoming football heading into bye week, Laramie High girls cross-country wins the Class 4A state championship, LHS football is ready to host first home playoff game in 26 years, and how UW wrestling coach Mark Branch built a national contender with a preseason top-10 team.
Have a great day, and enjoy the reading!
