A Turkish Bar in Doncaster has been smashed with a hammer and covered in paint by a masked vandal causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. <\/p>\n
CCTV footage from the scene on the 6 May at around 1:30am was posted online by Antep Bar and Grill.<\/p>\n
The footage appears to show a man, hiding his face with a bike helmet, smashing up the windows and throwing a tub of white paint across the front of the building. <\/p>\n
ShefNews spoke to the owner\u2019s son on Friday, who asked not to be named in the story. He said: \u201cIt was an unprovoked attack. It\u2019s a family run restaurant, we have no qualms with anyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s important to let them know that we will stay tight knit together and they\u2019re not going to keep us down.\u201d<\/p>\n
The restaurant has recently posted a statement on social media announcing that the windows have been fixed and they are now open again.<\/p>\n
Posting on Instagram this morning, they said: \u201cAs upsetting and difficult this been for a small business with a lot of pressures, the support, messages and kindness from our amazing customers, friends and wider community has meant the world to us.\u201d<\/p>\n
The attack is said to set them back thousands of pounds, with the owner\u2019s son saying \u201ceveryone knows the pressures economically, for a small business like us, its difficult. But its not enough to keep us out, we\u2019re going to keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said that he believes tighter security and safety measures should be put in place in the future. <\/p>\n
Despite the attacks he said that community is \u2018stronger than what people think\u2019 and that a \u2018few wrong people\u2019 shouldn\u2019t have a wider impact on what people think of Doncaster. <\/p>\n
This vandalism comes only a month after an Italian restaurant was subject to a similar attack across the same road. <\/p>\n
Zammuto on Nether Hall Road saw a vandal smash every window on 25 March this year.<\/p>\n
South Yorkshire Police have been contacted for comment. <\/p>\n
