{"id":39743,"date":"2026-08-14T13:10:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T13:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/turkiye\/39743\/"},"modified":"2026-08-14T13:10:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T13:10:10","slug":"azerbaijan-tops-turkiyes-june-pipeline-gas-imports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/turkiye\/39743\/","title":{"rendered":"Azerbaijan tops T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s June pipeline gas imports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Azerbaijan ranked as T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s largest pipeline gas supplier in June for the fourth consecutive year, according to data compiled from the country&#8217;s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).<\/p>\n<p>An Anadolu compilation of EMRA data showed that Azerbaijan has held the top spot in T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s June pipeline gas imports since 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Azerbaijan supplied around 744 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas to T\u00fcrkiye in June 2023, around 997 mcm in June 2024 and 1.02 billion cubic meters (bcm) in June 2025. In June 2026, its pipeline gas supplies stood at around 1.01 bcm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Azerbaijan retakes lead after Russia tops January-May<\/p>\n<p>The June ranking marked a shift from the first five months of 2026, when Russia was T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s largest pipeline gas supplier in each month from January through May.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Azerbaijan ranked first with 1.01 bcm, followed by Iran with 883 mcm, while Russia fell to third place with 882 mcm.<\/p>\n<p>T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s total natural gas imports decreased by 6.19% in June compared to the same month last year, falling to around 3.06 bcm from 3.26 bcm in June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the total imports, around 2.78 bcm was delivered via pipelines, while 282 mcm was imported as liquefied natural gas (LNG).<\/p>\n<p>T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s LNG imports in June came entirely from Algeria, totaling around 282 mcm.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Natural gas consumption rises 4.59%<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;s total natural gas consumption increased by 4.59% year-on-year to approximately 2.83 bcm in June.<\/p>\n<p>Industrial natural gas consumption stood at around 1.09 bcm. Gas use in the transformation\/conversion sector, which includes electricity generation, reached 594 mcm, while household consumption totaled 710 mcm during the same period.<\/p>\n<p>The country&#8217;s natural gas storage volume at the end of June stood at around 5.27 bcm.
