Rangers FC has announced a series of renovations at Glasgow’s Ibrox Stadium, which are to take place during Scottish football’s off-season.
The Gers announced on Monday (June 1) that several upgrades are to take place at the stadium, including a revamp of the playing surface and Members Lounge.
The surface will be renovated to “ensure it remains in pristine condition” in time for the upcoming season, which starts in August.
Other renovations to the stadium will see the balustrades in the Copland Rear stand replaced with new glass structures, aiming to “enhance the view for supporters”.
The Bill Struth Main Stand’s revamp, which began last September, is to be completed over the summer, with replacement timbers and fixing covers, as well as the replacement of panels on the building facade. Electrical inspections are also to be carried out.

Ibrox’s Members Lounge is also undergoing a makeover, with new booth seating, flooring and LED lighting.
The trophy room is also to see a decorative revamp, partly financed by Club 1872’s heritage fund. Much of this work is already complete, Rangers has stated.
And the stadium’s memorials and statues are also to benefit from the upcoming refurbishment, with its John Greig Ibrox Disaster Memorial statue set to be rewaxed and restored.
Statue of the “legendary” Walter Smith will also be fitted with lighting – pending approval from Glasgow City Council.
A team of painters will also carry out work between Ibrox, Edmiston House, the Rangers Training Centre and the Ibrox Community Complex, freshening up several areas in preparation for the season ahead.
The upcoming Scottish football season will kick off on August 1 and August 2, when the Premiership, Championship and League will begin.
