PLAGE DE HAVRE is switching back onto the turf which should pose no problems, and with a few in here that like to pop along up on the front end he should get an ideal run in behind the leaders. His last run was just too bad to be true up at Newcastle and he drops back down to a more realistic half-mile less distance.

FINBAR’S LAD is the only run on the card for the northern training combination John & Sean Quinn, and he’s worth following having made the trek down south to the seaside. He also looks like the 7f sprint specialist in the line up who’s not badly weighted and has Cieren Fallon taking over in the saddle.

HOLKHAM BAY put up a very solid performance at Goodwood despite not getting any daylight towards the stand side throughout the closing final furlong. Oisin Murphy takes over in the saddle, and he won’t mind if the ground is riding fast and a sharp 6f at this venue also looks ideal.

Since being dropped back down in distance, INISHERIN really has taken to the sprinting discipline, winning smoothly at Haydock and Ascot before a couple of below-par efforts. He reappears having had a wind operation and he will be looking to put a marker down in the older sprinting division.

SMOKEN has won pretty comfortably on both her starts so far, although admittedly under much softer conditions. The form of her Listed success last November at Newmarket is working out well with the second that day having run particularly well in an Oaks Trial at Chester. There’s no reason to expect she won’t be fully effective under these conditions either.

JOLLY ROGER is a big powerful individual and with his physique, he’s only going to get better the more racing he has. He was a little free in the early stages on his return last time, but still managed to hit the line strongly. We’ve again had the jockeys’ merry-go-round in the saddle and Ryan Moore is taking over this time from a handy starting position in stall number six.
