Last night, a record 2,489,000 viewers watched the first semi-final of Eurovision 2025 on Rai 2.
Italy recorded its largest audience for a first Semi-Final outside of its hosting of the contest last night. This is a record for a first semi-final of Eurovision in Italy, with 2,489,000 viewers watching with an audience share of 12.3%, while also continuing a pattern of growth for the third year in succession. Last year, the first semi-final was watched by 1,912,000 and in 2023 by 1,814,000 viewers.
Italy was among the countries that voted and performed in Semi-Final One. Lucio Corsi is automatically qualified for the Grand Final on May 17, but like all Big Five nations and the host country performs in one of the two Semi-Finals as a showcase.
Who is Lucio Corsi?
Lucio Corsi was born on October 15, 1993 in Grosseto, Italy. He was raised in the Maremma region of Tuscany, known for its landscapes and nature.
He started making music at a young age and later moved to Milan where he composed and released his first debut EPs in 2014 and 2015. At the beginning of his career, he also performed as an opening act for various famous Italian artists such as Stadio, Baustelle and Brunori Sas.

Italy debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 and has participated a total of 42 times to date. Italy returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 having last participated in the contest in 1997. The country has withdrawn from the contest on a number of occasions in the past. Italy has won the contest three times, the first time being in 1964 and the latest being in 2021. Since their return in 2011, Italy has finished in the top 10 on eleven occasions.
