Australia women’s cricket team captain Alyssa Healy, who is married to Mitchell Starc, has opened on the PBKS vs DC match at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. The match was suspended after 10.1 overs due to tension between India and Pakistan. Fans were told to leave the stadium as soon as possible, while the players were also evacuated after security was arranged for them. Pakistan had attacked North India with missiles and drones.

Healy was watching the match from the stands, and she recalled the events after one of the light towers stopped working.

“The light towers went off, and we were waiting for the instructions. I heard from someone that we might have to leave because the lights were not functioning. The families of the players and extra support staff were told to get on the bus by a guy, whose face had turned white,” Healy said on the ‘WillowTalk’ podcast.

“He told us that we need to go right now. We wanted everyone else to leave the stadium first. We were safer there as the stairs were fully occupied by the fans who were leaving the stadium. Then a guy came and grabbed one of the children and said that we need to leave right now,” she added.

She revealed that players were rushed into the vans, and Faf du Plessis was not even wearing his shoes. She mentioned that Mitchell Starc told her about the attack by Pakistan.

“The players were stressed, and Faf did not even wear shoes. I asked Starc about what was going on. He told me that a town 60 kilometres away from Dharamsala has been hit by missiles. So there was a complete blackout in the area, and the light towers were turned off because the stadium was like a beacon at that point in time.

“All of us were put into vans and went to the hotel. There was madness. Shreyas Iyer was on my bus. They wanted us to board the van as soon as possible to get out of the area,” she concluded.

The IPL 2025 was suspended after the contest, and the overseas players left for their respective countries. The BCCI has decided to restart the tournament after the ceasefire was announced between the two countries. The first match will be played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders on May 17.
