Luca Stephenson has joked it would take a GoFundMe page to get him back to Dundee United on a permanent basis.
The Liverpool youngster has just returned from two successful loans at Tannadice.
Stephenson is entering the final year of his contract.
He is wanted Bolton Wanderers and has interest from other English Championship sides this summer.
He said: “It might need a GoFundMe to get me back there.”
The 22-year-old has insisted that if he doesn’t get a move in the coming weeks, he’ll aim to be on Liverpool’s pre-season tour to America in August under new boss Andoni Iraola.
He admitted: “If I’m around, I’ll be looking to get on that pre-season tour (USA August). Hopefully, I can get some minutes and impress. “I’m at an age now where I need to be playing first-team football, like I have done for the past two seasons. “If that’s at Liverpool, fantastic. “If it’s not, I’ll find a new adventure, like the other boys who have left and done really well.”
Stephenson believes he benefited greatly from his two loans at United under Goodwin. He gained their trust, which was important.
The Liverpool player, speaking to the Athletic, claimed: “I’ve felt at home and its credit to the environment, the manager and his staff have created.
“Trust, in football, is massive.
“The manager gave me that straight away.
“That real trust can be rare, knowing other young lads at Liverpool and their experiences on loan.
“I feel I can try things and the manager won’t judge you or have a go at you for it.
“The best thing about Scotland is the range of games. “It gives you Celtic and Rangers and Hearts this year playing in front of packed crowds at big stadiums.
“Then the derby against Dundee and what it means to people.”
