  • 15 May 2025

JASPER COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – TEC, a rural broadband provider, has been awarded three grants to secure high-speed internet in four Mississippi counties.

Jasper, Leake, Scott and Lawrence Counties will receive high-speed internet as a result of the grant, and the company aims to provide reliable broadband service to over 4,800 households and businesses.

The grants are worth a total of $10,882,601.

These grants were awarded by the Office of Broadband Expansion and Accessibility of Mississippi.

“These grants are a transformative opportunity for our company and the communities we serve,” said CEO Joey F. Garner. “We’re thrilled to receive this support, which will allow us to extend our services and help bridge the digital divide across these counties. This is just the beginning of our efforts to provide equitable access to the internet for all.”

TEC said in a press release that they extend their gratitude to BEAM for their recognition and support.
