A person from Birmingham has been fined £600 after rubbish was dumped on a country lane in North Warwickshire.
Evidence from the fly tip made it possible for environmental crime officers to track the person the rubbish belonged to. They have now been fined £600 for not applying the necessary duty of care in disposing of waste from their home.
The rubbish was dumped on Hawkeswell Lane in Coleshill.
Now, North Warwickshire Borough Council has issued a stern message.
A spokesman for the local authority said: “Our Environmental Crime Officer attended the scene of a fly tip in Hawkeswell Lane, Coleshill, which resulted in evidence being secured at the scene.
“Following an investigation which included an interview under caution of a person from Birmingham, a fine was served for £600 for not applying the necessary duty of care required in disposing of waste from their home address.
“Remember, it’s your responsibility to make sure your waste is disposed of properly. If you pay someone to take your rubbish away, check they’re authorised to do so and ask where it will be taken.
“If your waste is found fly-tipped, you could face a fine.”
