A major housing development set to transform a former ironworks in Openshaw has taken a significant step towards following planning approval from Manchester City Council.
Top 10 UK housebuilder, Keepmoat, has committed to invest more than £26 million to transform the brownfield site off Crabtree Lane and create 194 high-quality new homes.
The proposals involve the demolition and remediation of a range of derelict buildings, with the investment from the housebuilder set to regenerate the area by creating 124 bespoke architect-designed apartments and 70 family homes.
Of the 194 homes, 62 will be delivered in partnership with a housing provider to create a range of affordable options. Keepmoat will also create new open spaces, footpaths and highway upgrades to improve the local infrastructure and connectivity.
