Nando’s has confirmed it has discontinued a side dish that was a “great healthy option”. Nando’s has quietly axed a salad dish from the menu, in the form of its Leafy Green Salad – a light, fresh option topped with PERi-PERi seeds.

The Leafy Green Salad was axed back in October. One customer posted the news on Reddit: “It was great to have a healthy option.”

Nando’s, which has restaurants in Birmingham, has swapped it for a new addition – the Portuguese Tomato Salad. A Nando’s spokesperson told The Sun: “We regularly make updates to our menus and introduce new ingredients and flavours which our fans love.

“Leafy Green Salad came off the menu in October, but alternative salad options and sides are available.” It comes as Nando’s has dropped a fresh menu and six new options ahead of summer – but some Peri Peri chicken fans have been left complaining about the price.

It is served in a soft rustic Portuguese roll, made with Wildfarmed regenerative flour. Nando’s said: “It’s the sweet wave you’ve been waiting for. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll want it on everything.” I

Also joining the sides list is Charred Corn, smoky sweetcorn in a creamy, garlicky sauce topped with fresh spring onions and PERi-Salt.

Plus a new summer drink is being introduced, called the Tropical Quencher, for the “ultimate summer slurp”.
