A teenage girl has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on a street in Renfrew. Police were alerted to the incident on Hairst Street at around 12.55pm on Wednesday (June 17).

The 15-year-old girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children after emergency services attended the scene.

The extent of her injuries is unknown.

Police have confirmed that their enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.55pm on Wednesday, 17 June, 2026 police were called to a report of a 15-year-old girl being struck by a car on Hairst Street, Renfrew.

“Emergency services attended and the girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.”
