Singer Chris Brown has been arrested during a stay at a five-star hotel in Manchester over an alleged bottle attack that happened two years ago.

The events reportedly took place in a nightclub in London back in 2023. The Metropolitan Police arrested the No Guidance singer, 36, after 2am at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester today (May 15), reported The Mirror.

It was reported that the cause for arrest was due to suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub.

Chris arrived into Manchester on Wednesday (14th May) afternoon by private jet, landing at Manchester Airport.

In a statement, The Met told The Sun: ‘”A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

“He has been taken into custody where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”

In October 2023, music producer Abe Diaw claimed he was assaulted by Chris Brown in a lawsuit. The court documents alleged he suffered “severe and lasting injuries” after being beaten “over the head.”

Chris Brown has 10 UK tour dates planned in the near future, but with the investigation taking place his Breezy Bowl XX tour could be in jeopardy.

It was set to be a celebration of his career spanning 20 years, with him booking the Co-Op live for shows on June 15 and 16 this summer.

The singer had other dates booked in Cardiff, London, Birmingham, Glasgow and Dublin.

He announced the tour in March and took to his Instagram as he wrote: “CELEBRATING 20 years of CB. So excited to be able to share this moment with the world and my amazing fans.

“I CANT WAIT TO SEE ALL YALLS BEAUTIFUL FACES. IMA TAKE YALL THREW THESE ERAS BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY GIVE YALL MY HEART AND SOUL.”

This tour was set to follow his string of concerts that came after his 11:11 album, in which he generated an impressive $82.3 million (£64 million) from ticket sales.
