As is befitting its name, the team has been giving away ‘spoilers’ showing the transformation, including the addition of an outdoor terrace.

Posts have shown cult movie touches, with film posters and even a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-style sewer hatch.

A stage has been installed at the late night venue as well as a new sound system.

Outside, the old green Kerryman frontage has been painted purple to give the old pub a new lease of life.

The Kerryman shut down in 2022 and cousins and co-owners Jack and Jay-Jay have been working to secure the lease on the property to create a new venue.

Jay-Jay told BirminghamLive at the time the bar was announced that plans would include the addition of a movie screen and arcade machines as well as silent disco headphones.

The plan is for soft launches to test out new equipment, to prime staff for formal openings and to iron out teething issues.

The two-day soft launch begins at 5pm on Friday, May 23, remaining open until 4am.

Spoilers does have a very late license, meaning that on Saturday, May 24 it will be open until 6am for the first time.

This kind of late night license isn’t unknown in the neighbourhood.

Rock bar Subside also remains open until 6am on weekends.

Spoilers will open at 81 Digbeth, B5 6DY.
