A person was attacked along a busy Bristol road this morning (Wednesday, June 24).
The incident happened on the corner of Fishponds Road and Hinton Road, in Fishponds.
Avon and Somerset Police were called to the scene by paramedics after a person was injured.
They were taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
The Bristol Neighbourhood Policing Facebook page said officers arrived at the scene within five minutes of the call, but that the suspects had already left.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify and find those involved in the incident, police said.
One of the suspects was described by a witness as being “white, tall, of stocky build, with brown hair and balding”.
Police officers will be in the area throughout the day and anyone with information or concerns are asked to speak to officers. The cordon has since been lifted.
A spokesperson for Bristol Neighbourhood Policing said: “A scene was in place in Fishponds Road and Hinton Road this morning (Wednesday 24 June) after officers were called by paramedics to the scene of an assault.
“One person has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing.
“Officers arrived on the scene within five minutes of receiving the call however the suspects had already left. Enquiries are being carried out to identify and locate the people responsible.
“One of the suspects was described by a witness as being white, tall, of stocky build, with brown hair and balding.
“Neighbourhood Policing officers will be in the area throughout the day and we encourage anyone with either information or concerns to speak with them.
