Incredible footage shows a massive lightning storm illuminating Edinburgh’s sky.
Videos from around the capital captured dramatic lightning strikes in vivid detail amid the huge storm.
Slow-motion footage from Gilmerton captured a massive forked lightning strike piercing the sky, turning the sky white-purple.
Another video take from a home in Portobello shows the clouds being lit up by non-stop lightning. The sound of strong wind can be heard in the background.
A third clip filmed on North Bridge in city centre shows heavy rain pouring down on the road while the skies are illuminated by huge lightning strikes.

It comes after Edinburgh residents were warned of potential disruption, as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.
Rainy conditions began overnight on Thursday. At around 2am, showers were predicted to start with thunder predicted at 3am.
Conditions were expected to clear up for a few hours before more heavy rain from around 6am. This is expected to throughout the day on Friday, with patches of sun in the late morning.

Locals can expect temperatures of around 15C. In the evening, foggy conditions move in from around 8pm and last until around 2am on Saturday morning.
The Met Office said: “Rather cloudy start with outbreaks of occasionally heavy showery rain, with a risk of thunder. Rain or showers turn lighter through the afternoon with some sunny spells developing. Maximum temperature 28C.”
