RandB artist Chris Brown was arrested shortly after his arrival at Manchester airport early on Thursday.

Police detectives reportedly arrived at the five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester to arrest the 36 year old American musician just past 2am, in connection with an alleged bottle attack that occurred in London.

Brown reportedly landed at Manchester airport in a private jet on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Sun, the singer was detained on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm on music producer Abe Diaw at the fashionable Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London, in February 2023.

The Met issued a statement, which read: “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

“He has been taken into custody where he remains.

“The arrest is connected to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.

“The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”

The alleged assault took place while songwriter Brown was on a worldwide tour and performing in the UK.

The remainder of his performances could now be disrupted, including his Birmingham show at Villa Park on June 26.

The Loyal hit maker is scheduled to play 10 more dates across Britain next month as part of his Breezy Bowl XX Tour.

His UK stint is expected to feature two nights at Manchester’s Co-Op Live stadium, followed by a performance at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

Subsequently, the singer is scheduled to take centre stage at Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium in London, before heading to gigs in Birmingham, Glasgow, and Dublin.
