Parades, family fun days, and charity events are lined up in the weeks before July 12th

Ahead of the main Twelfth of July celebrations across Northern Ireland, there are plenty of events taking place.

The main parades to mark the 336th anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne take place on Monday, July 13, as The Twelfth falls on a Sunday this year.

Ahead of then, however, there are plenty of family fun days, parades, charity events and much more lined up, taking place right across Northern Ireland.

The pre-Twelfth events taking place across Northern Ireland this weekend

BELFAST

  • Saturday, 27th June – Whiterock Parade.
  • Sunday, 28th June – 36th Ulster Division LOL 977 Service – St Mary Magdalene Parish Church, Donegal Pass.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Motorists are advised to expect travel delays in north and west Belfast this Saturday, June 27th due to a parade taking place.

“Traffic disruption can be expected in the greater Shankill and Springfield Road areas between 1pm and 5pm. Diversions will be in place throughout this time.”

BALLYCLARE

  • Sunday, 28th June – Ballyclare Memorial Flute Band

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Road users are advised to anticipate traffic disruption in Ballyclare on Sunday afternoon, 28th June, due to a planned parade. There will be temporary traffic disruption in and around the town between 12pm and 2.00pm.”

COOKSTOWN

  • Sunday, 28th June – Drumnacross Guiding Star LOL 304 service, Drumnacross Orange Hall.
  • Sunday, 28th June – Tamlaghtmore Ark of Safety LOL 469 service, Tamlaghtmore Orange Hall

BALLYMENA

  • Saturday, 27th June Mini Twelfth & Fun Day- Cullybackey.

AUGHNACLOY

  • Sunday, 28th June Dergina True Blues LOL 897 Orange Service.
