With summer holidays just around the corner, thousands of Scots holidaymakers will have started planning their journeys from car parking and luggage restrictions to checking their flight times. And if you have an early morning flight to catch, Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports have a handy hack that will save you time.
For those with departures before certain times, both airports offer a Twilight bag drop which means passengers can check in their luggage the evening before their flight saving precious time in the morning and even allowing them a bit longer in bed. The free service covers passengers flying with several airlines.
At Glasgow Airport, those flying with easyJet, Jet2.com and TUI have the option to drop their bags off the night before if their flight is departing before midday.
It means those who live close to the airport or are staying at an airport hotel the night before can head straight to security in the morning.
Ryanair and TUI passengers can check their bags in between 4pm and 9pm and Jet2 passengers can do so from 4.30pm until 9pm.
Those wanting to use the service are given up to one-hour free parking at the multi-storey car park directly across from the terminal while they drop their bags.
On checking in and dropping off bags, passengers will be given a QR code to receive a 50% priority security discount voucher for use the following morning.
Passengers must have checked in for their flight online and downloaded their boarding pass. And they must have their passport and boarding pass with them to access the service.
At Edinburgh Airport the service extends to passengers flying with Ryanair, easyJet, Jet2.com, British Airways and now Aer Lingus too.
Your flight must be before midday for easyJet, Jet2.com and British Airways, and before 8am if you’re flying with Ryanair.
The times are different for each carrier and are as follows:
