A man has been released unconditionally from custody as police say the death of a woman in west Belfast on Saturday is no longer being treated as suspicious.

Police remained at the scene of the death in Helen’s Wood Court, off the Stewartstown Road, on Monday.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was found dead at the property on Saturday.

Police had initially said they were investigating the death as suspicious but did not release any further details while they awaited the result of a post-mortem.

“Police received a report of the sudden death of a woman aged in her 40s at a house in the Helen’s Wood Court area of Dunmurry on Saturday, 27th June,” an updated statement on Monday afternoon said.

“A post-mortem examination was completed this morning, Monday 29th June, and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

“A man arrested on Saturday night has been released unconditionally.”
