A last-minute change has occurred in the role of the United Kingdom’s Spokesperson for Eurovision 2025: due to unforeseen circumstances, beloved actor Ncuti Gatwa will unfortunately not be able to appear during this year’s Grand Final, where he was originally scheduled to announce the UK jury’s results.
However, his replacement couldn’t be more dazzling or more in tune with the spirit of Eurovision. Sophie Ellis-Bextor, known for her pop hits and her iconic Kitchen Disco show on BBC Radio 2, will step in to deliver the UK’s jury points live during the Grand Final.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor stated:
“I love Eurovision and it’s truly a privilege to be part of the 2025 Grand Final. It’s an honour to announce the UK jury’s score on such a special night, where music is always at the heart of the show. I can’t wait to deliver the iconic ‘douze points’ from the United Kingdom!”
Eurovision is known for its surprises and unforgettable moments — and this year looks to be no exception. With Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s distinctive voice and star quality, the UK’s jury vote announcement is expected to be one of the most stylish and memorable moments of the night.
