A man has been arrested following reports of a disturbance involving an ‘pickaxe’ in a street in Glasgow’s southside.
Police say they were called to Maxwell Road, in Pollokshields around 10.05pm on Sunday (June 28).
Locals had reported a person allegedly ‘chasing’ others with the weapon and footage shared with Glasgow Live shows police recovering a large pickaxe from the scene after putting a man in the back of their van as shouts are heard in the street.
Cops have now confirmed that a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.05pm on Sunday, 28 June, 2026, officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the Maxwell Road area of Glasgow.
“A 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.
“He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 29 June, 2026.”
