A man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Welshpool town centre. An investigation was launched after an incident on Church Street at 1.16am on Sunday, June 28.
It followed reports that a man had been injured. Despite the best efforts of ambulance crews the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has now been named by Dyfed-Powys Police as Young John Mongan, 49, from Walsall.
The force confirmed that Martin Slezak, 22, of Stanley Street in Welshpool has been charged with murder in connection to the incident.
