Trains
Great Western Railway (GWR) will add additional carriages to help customers get back to Bristol following the Blackweir Live concerts.
Trains are, however, expected to be very busy immediately after the concerts.
Those travelling from further afield should check connecting services, and the time of their last train home, at www.gwr.com/check
Transport for Wales (TfW) has provided additional capacity where possible on routes to and from Cardiff for all Blackweir events, with later services scheduled to accommodate attendees.
From 10pm Cathays station and the station bridge will close – passengers will be directed to either Cardiff Central or Cardiff Queen Street station.
A queuing system will be in place with passengers at both Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Central. Valleys customers can use either station and queuing details will be shared soon.
Passengers are strongly encouraged to plan ahead, allow plenty of time for their journeys, and purchase rail tickets in advance. Due to several conflicting events in the city centre on 4th July, rail services are expected to be busier than usual.
Passengers using pay as you go payment method should tap in at their departure station and then tap out using same payment method. Transport for Wales volunteers will be available to assist with tapping in and out.
While Cardiff Bus Interchange will remain open, local road diversions will be in place and passengers should check individual operators’ websites for full details.
Trains
Local bus services will be diverted while the city centre road closures are in place. Please visit the relevant bus operator’s website for more information about your specific bus routes.
National Express coaches will depart as normal from Sophia Gardens.
