A suspect has been named after a man was allegedly chased with a knife and grabbed by the neck. Merseyside Police were called to Pine Close in Huyton at around 3.10am on Monday, May 12.
It followed a report a man had a knife and was chasing another man before grabbing him around the neck. Eyewitnesses at the scene said they saw several police officers carrying out searches in the area and the police dog unit near the Shell garage in the early hours.
Officers attended and following a chase detained a man on Liverpool Road. The man allegedly kicked out and spat at officers Following the incident, detectives have since charged a man in connection with the incident.
Ronald Phillip Inman, 41, of Hyland Road in Huyton has been charged with possession of a bladed article and two counts of beating of an emergency worker. Inman will next appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 20.
