James Madden from Exacta Weather explained: “Expect largely dry, sunny and much warmer temperatures on the day as high pressure continues to dominate through this weekend and into the middle of next week…

“Additionally, this matches all of our dated long-range forecasts of up to 120+ days ahead and all of our more moderate to short-ranged and repeated forecasts for this exact scenario and for this exact period of May.

“Further details on further ahead will follow in the week-ahead forecast later this weekend.

“But between today and the middle of next week is a long time for the on-the-day temperatures to be much higher than current indications from elsewhere and just as they were correctly and significantly much warmer on our part during last weekend and the earlier part of this week.

“Just to confirm this further, EVERY single one of our updates also covered this specified period of “this weekend and the early to mid-part of next week” repeatedly of late.

“And I’m either going to be correct twice, or correct once and largely right in terms of expected developments for these exact given periods from very far ahead.

“Enjoy the extension of warmth and sunny conditions for most (except for maybe the far east coast to begin with) due to this extended period of dominant high pressure that you more than transparently heard about here first.”
