A window was smashed and a driveway left burnt after a car was deliberately set alight in a ‘targeted attack’ at a house in Tameside.
Police and fire crews were called to the residential street on Sergeant Mark Stansfield Way in Hattersley, Hyde after the blaze was started on Monday night (June 29).
The incident, which also saw a front window smashed through occurred the evening before a gas leak in the area. A major investigation is now underway after the driveway of the property was left charred and covered in burnt debris.

Greater Manchester Police said they were called alongside fire crews to the blaze at around 11.45pm on Monday (June 29).
Emergency services remained at the scene conducting investigations throughout Tuesday (June 30). No arrests have yet been made.
“Officers from our Tameside district are appealing for information after a vehicle was deliberately set on fire outside an address,” a spokesperson for the force said.

“We were called at 11.45pm to reports or a car which had been set on fire, officers attended the scene along with colleagues from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
“No arrests have been made at this stage. It is believed to be a targeted attack with no wider risk to the public, and investigations are ongoing. Officers are now appealing to the public for their help as we continue to make enquiries into this incident.”
Fire and rescue personnel were then called out on Tuesday morning (June 30) to reports of a gas leak. “Firefighters worked alongside partners from Greater Manchester Police and Cadent to make the area safe,” a spokesperson said.
“No injuries were reported and crews were on the scene for around four and a half hours.”
