The M60 has reopened following a crash tonight. Emergency services were in attendance on the clockwise carriageway this evening (Wednesday, July 1).
The clockwise carriageway was shut to traffic between J16 for Clifton and J17 for Prestwich. Motorway traffic cameras showed congestion building in the area amid the police response.
Motorists were warned of delays this evening.
A National Highways spokesperson said: “Traffic stopped on the M60 in Greater Manchester clockwise between J16 Clifton & J17 Prestwich due to a collision. Vehicle recovery and clear up works are underway. Currently delays of 20 minutes with 2 miles of congestion on approach.”
In an update shortly before 11pm, a spokesperson confirmed the motorway had reopened.
They said: “All lanes now open on the M60 in Greater Manchester clockwise between J16 Clifton & J17 Prestwich. Currently no significant delays on approach.”
