Well, after re-committing to the 25th September 2026 release date as soon as last week in the Capcom Spotlight digital show, the launch of Onimusha: Way of the Sword has now been brought forward by three weeks.
The revival of the action series will now release on 4th September 2026.
Previously, the game had been scheduled to come out in the extremely busy part of September’s release schedule, coming just a day after Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall. Now, it lands in a quieter part of the month, but the new 4th September date is still only a day after The Blood of Dawnwalker and one and a half weeks before Marvel’s Wolverine.
Either way, it’ll face competition for people’s time, money, and attention.

Capcom clarifies the pre-order bonuses of a Lion Dog charm and a Sealed Curse sword appearance will now become early adopter bonuses. As long as you buy Onimusha: Way of the Sword by 25th September, the original release date, you’ll gain access to them.
