Edinburgh food hall Bonnie & Wild has become the world’s first food hall to achieve B Corp certification, which recognises businesses that meet verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
Since opening, Bonnie & Wild has focused on showcasing Scottish food and drink producers and is home to 14 independent kitchens and speciality retailers, all operated by owner-led Scottish businesses.
Ryan Barrie, Managing Director of Bonnie & Wild, said: “This is significant milestone for Bonnie & Wild, and I’m enormously proud of our entire team for their efforts in making Bonnie & Wild the first food hall in the world to become a certified B Corp.
“This latest accolade is a glowing reflection of the supportive community we’ve established, including our staff, concessions, suppliers and customers, who have all supported Bonnie & Wild to become one of Scotland’s most visited food and drink destinations.
“Importantly, B Corp certification means our guests, whether loyal fans or first-time visitors, can be assured that the money they spend within Bonnie & Wild is with a purpose-led business committed to championing Scottish entrepreneurs and start-ups, supporting our teams and the local community, and working to safeguard the wider environment.”
The certification adds to Bonnie & Wild’s previous accolades, including a Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Award and VisitScotland’s Taste Our Best quality assurance award.
